SHIVA SITAR

When I was in highschool, a friend of mine told me a story about the infamous Ravi Shankar. He told me Ravi Shankar spent 7 years listening to the Sitar, 7 years studying the sitar, that is, the aesthetics of the instrument. How its put together, putting one together, studying the materials that are used to make one. Finally he put seven years into nothing but playing. Studying the stylized methods it takes to play the sitar. If its a true story, Ravi has taken the instrument to a whole other level. It's become a spiritual thing at this point. Thats pretty intense.
